The Story behind the Shot:
It was just after noon, and we were heading back to camp when our guide spotted this handsome lion on a tree. The lion seemed comfortable at first, but after a short while, he wanted to come down, but didn't know how... It was funny to watch the "King" struggle - climbing the tree was easy, but coming down was a completely different story... We weren't the only ones enjoying this show - two giraffes were standing not far from us, and they were as curious as we were to see how this will end. After over an hour, when he almost fell from the tree at least three times, he finally jumped and landed safely (though not gracefully...) on the ground, and went to sleep at the shade of the very same tree.
Photographed in Maasai Mara, Kenya, August 2019.
